11th Annual Pettit Shootout
IMCA Modified, IMCA Sport Mods and
Hobby Stock Race Weekend
Thursday, Friday & Saturday
September 23, 24 & 25 - 2021

We will start 22 Modifieds, Sport Mods & Hobby Stocks each night for the
11th Annual Pettit Shootout A-Main Events
(if less than 24 cars check in, all cars will be in the A-Main event).
More than 22 cars we will have a B-Main events to determine additional starting spots.

SOUND is STRICTLY ENFORCED!!
Cars must be 90 dba at 100 feet
NO IMCA Cone Muffler allowed, all cars must have a muffler
Recommended muffler is the FlowMaster 53545-10

Refunds
There will be NO refunds issued
(only weather related if needed)

Thursday – Kick-off Party
Carmona’s BBQ from 5:30pm to 8:00pm
All drivers and Fans are invited to join to kick-off the race weekend
Bring your polished cars and show them off

Friday – Night # 1
Pit gate opens at 10:00am
Pill Draw opens at 11:30am
Pill Draw closes at 2:30pm
Drivers Meeting at 2:45pm
Qualifying starts at 3:30pm

Saturday – Night # 2
Pit gate opens at 10:00pm
Pill Draw opens at 11:30am
Pill draw closes at 2:30pm

Pit passes are $55 each night or you can purchase a two day pass for $100
*IMCA Members must be prepared to show license

PURSE:
Hobby $303 to win & $53 to start Friday, $506 to win & $56 to start Saturday, Feature events
Sport Mods $503 to win & $53 to start Friday, $1,006 to win & $106 to start Saturday, Feature event
Modifieds $1,003 to win & $103 to start Friday, $3,006 to win & $206 to start Saturday, Feature event

BONUS AND CONTINGENCY PRIZE:
Must have either purchased a reserved pit stall ($50) or completed pre-entry ($25) –payments go to venmo at Samantha-harper-55

FORMAT FOR THE WEEKEND:

All Divisions will run a complete shows each night.
Modifieds will qualify, run heats, B-Main’s and Feature each night
Sport Mods will run heats, B-Main’s and Feature each night (will be draw re-draw)
Hobby Stocks will run heats, B-Main’s and Feature each night (will be draw re-draw)

IMCA SPORT MODS & HOBBY STOCKS:
Heat Races ~ all drivers will draw a pill for position in the heat races. We will determine number of transfer to the A-Main event, by the number of heat races (number of heat races will be determined the night of the race). The remaining non-transfers will race the B-Main(s) (multiple B-Mains, if needed) for final transfer spots.
IMCA Modifieds
Group Qualify – 3 Cars at time, qualifying line up determined by pill draw, if more than 40 cars are entered, we will split the group into two, first set will run heats together and second set will run heats together.
Heat races Saturday Modifieds – will start straight up from qualifying times. # of cars to the A Feature will be determined on race day depending car count.
B – Mains ~ Transfers # will be determined by the # of entries.
Race Laps ~ Modified Main Events will be 33 laps Friday night and 53 Laps on Saturday night. Sport Mods Main Event will be 23 laps Friday night and 33 laps on Saturday night. Hobby Stock Main Event will be 23 laps Friday & Saturday nights.

Restarts will be Texas style – double file
o If a yellow comes out in the Heats & B-Main’s race with than half way to go will be single file
o If a yellow comes out with 5 to go in the Feature restart will be single file

Yellow Flags ~ Heat Races – will be a one (1) and done for all divisions

Yellow Flags ~ Main Events –two yellows and done.

Provisional Starters:
o JP2 if he doesn’t make feature
o Previous Champion – we will start with most recent

Points:
IMCA State, & Regional only. No track points will be awarded
Rules:
Modifieds and Sport Mods will follow the IMCA Technical Rules

Hobby Stocks will follow Ocean Speedway Rules, including the Ocean Speedway tire rule, No g60s. If your track rules have something that you want to be discussed, please call Ocean Tech official Doug Hagio for guidance.

Payout - we will mail out both night purse money’s and any other prizes via mail. Please make sure all your payout information is received.

Tires - for each tire left in the pit area, $75 will be deducted from the purse of that class

Transponders & Racecievers ~ ARE MANDATORY. Transponder Rental fee is $20 per day. The track has some rentals, but it is recommended that you arrange to have your own. If you do not have a working Raceciever there is some for-sale at the track, but you are responsible to make sure it is operating correctly.

Camping - will be available at the Fairgrounds, please call 831-724-5671. Reminder if you are camping in the pits, please be respectful and keep the noise down, no loud music or pit bikes or carts racing in the pit area. Anyone that is caught 30mins after the last main event on a motorized vehicle of any type will disqualified from the event and asked to leave.

No Cars in Pit Area - there will be no single cars parking allowed in the pit area if you are not towing a race car.

Participating teams - please work with us to make this a great event. We know everyone has their own opinion of how things should be done. Unfortunately, we can never make everyone happy. So please keep that in mind. Minor adjustment may be made to this as deemed necessary by the track.
