Hollister's Bernal OK after huge crashWATSONVILLE -- The racing at Ocean Speedway was halted for nearly an hour Friday by a serious-looking crash involving the track's youngest star.
Hollister's Ryan Bernal, a 14-year-old who has been racing since he was 5, was unable to avoid two cars that collided in front of him just two laps into the Wingless Sprints feature. Bernal's car launched over the wheel of one of the slowing cars and began a series of rolls, slamming into the Turn 4 wall, then bouncing upside-down on top of the barrier before falling over to the other side and rolling twice more.
